Decorative Concrete Overlay

The preparation before pouring concrete:

We are never pouring concrete directly on sod or dirt. The excess moisture in the soil can cause the concrete to crack, shift, sink, scale and heave. We remove all loose dirt and use a minimum of 2-3″ of compacted gravel as a strong base for all types of concrete pours. All standard and decorative concrete must be a minimum of 4″ thick. This thickness is the standard for most concrete surfaces including driveways, sidewalks and patios.

The expansion joints can be saw cut or hand cut. These joints separate the concrete slabs into squares or rectangles for controlling cracks.

Let us introduce you to different FINISHING  STYLES now!

Smooth Finish:

This interior finishing style commonly used in a garage and basement. A finish, which gives you an easy-to-clean and smooth surface.

Broom finish:

This is the most cost effective exterior finish.  Broom finish concrete provides a durable, non-skid finish. Great for driveways, patios, sidewalks, staircases, ramps etc.

Swirl finish:

Swirl is similar to broom finish with a unique pattern  providing a durable, non-skid finish. Mainly used for sidewalks, driveways and staircases, as well as conventional outdoor concrete purposes.

Fish Bone Finish:

Fish Bone finish is highly recommended for steep driveways. This finishing style will not only help you to drive your vehicle safe uphill without skidding, but as a result of its special pattern -  it will be very decorative.

Exposed-aggregate finish:

This finish offers a number of  advantages. With an exposed-aggregate finish, you can achieve fantastic effects at a reasonable cost. The surface is rugged, nonskid, and resistant to heavy traffic and weather conditions. Available in many types and sizes of decorative aggregate to achieve unlimited color and texture variations. Exposed aggregate makes great contrasts with plain concrete or other decorative concrete finishes like stamping, stenciling, staining.

Stamped finish:

We can stamp and colour concrete to numerous varieties of natural materials. Random stone, cobblestone, slate, brick, fieldstone, wood and marble are just a few of hundreds of varieties for your decorative concrete projects. Decorative concrete is more affordable and durable than the natural materials.

With so many colour and pattern choices your options are endless!
